In the past I always suffered from headaches and migraines, unclear skin and had been putting on weight slowly for some time. Then your clinic was recommended to me and after I answered a few easy questions on your website I received the test results at the end of May 2005. I made all recommended dietary changes and with help from my naturopath I now cannot believe what a difference this has made to my life. My physical and emotional well-being has improved immensely and I am now able to enjoy a life without headaches and migraines, my skin looks absolutely fantastic and to date lost 15 kg bringing my bodyweight into a healthy weight range.

I have suffered for many years from extreme fatigue and lethargy, overweight and in the last couple of years, very sore legs and hips upon waking in the mornings.

I have blamed most of it over the years on Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome, working shift work and having two young children. However, I realised one day that my friends at work with the same pressures were leading normal active lives (not feeling like a 70 years old when Im only 36).

I had heard about allergy testing and searched the internet to find the only place in NZ that seemed to be reputable was Allergenics. I decided to give it a go, what was $99 when I'd spent thousands over the years with Specialists, not to mention weight loss centres.

The tests came back showing intolerances to WHEAT, POTATO, MSG and CAFFEINE. It took me a month to cut these foods out of my diet as I didn't know how I was going to live without my daily Soy Latte (I now drink decaf).

Wish I hadn't waited and Wish I had found this place earlier. I have been totally amazed by the affect cutting these foods out of my diet has had. My energy levels skyrocketed after 1 WEEK (Noticed by my Husband too.) The pain in my legs and hips started going after 2 WEEKS and totally gone after 1 MONTH. But the things that really surprised me were, the headaches and Sinus problems completely vanishing and the Weight Loss.

I have battled with my weight since my early 20s and had grown to live with it, however, about 3 weeks after my diet change I noticed I was losing weight. I started keeping a diary and was loosing 1kg every 7 - 10 days. This was without changing any other part of my eating regime I lost 15 kgs in 4 months. At this stage it stopped and I put a wee bit back on. I was then to learn I was pregnant with my Third child. Well that explains it, major body readjustment. Since then, although being pregnant and eating everything in sight to avoid morning, afternoon and evening sickness, I AM STILL LOSING WEIGHT.

I also truly believe that the conception of this baby is also to do with this Test, as I needed a little bit of help with the last two, but this one was a very pleasant total shock.

(I think my libido going sky high may have helped) But that is another story altogether.

Id just like to thank the Team at Allergenics for helping me get my life back. Especially Natasha for putting up with my many emails and replying so quickly. Now we know why the weight loss stopped so dramatically

Hi Natasha,

I am writing to advise on my success story from my hair allergy test that I had done through you last year.

I have always known I have had allergies and knew certain triggers but decided to have a hair allergy test to confirm exactly what was going on inside my body. I had no energy, bloating after meal, frequent headaches and just the general feeling that things "were not quite right".

When receiving the results, some were not at all surprising and I expected them to be on there but there were many other things on my list that really blew me away - things I had not even remotely thought that my body would be reacting too - things that were in my every day diet.

At first the list was overwhelming, and I was thinking how the heck am I supposed to cut these out of my diet but I decided to make the commitment that for 3 months (as suggested) I would eliminate everything on that list. My husband and children were very supportive of my decision also to follow through on this.

Well the results were outstanding - I first noticed after about a week how much more energy that I had - I would literally bounce out of bed in the morning and I night I still found myself pottering around about 11pm (normally I am in bed around 9.30pm). I felt so much more chatty and on fire during the day - I had my edge back. My headaches disappeared and another bonus was that I lost 4kgs in a month - without even trying to lose weight - I still ate what I wanted but just eliminated things off my allergy list.

Once I woke in the morning feeling terribly lethargic and wondered what I had done wrong only to find out the cous cous (my evening meal) was a type of wheat that I should have been avoiding. DOH!!

It definitely took a lot more planning of meals and outings etc but after a week or two I just become part of my everyday life and the results speak for themselves and everything was well worth the effort!!

Hi Natasha, here is my daughter's story:

I had the testing done for my daughter, who is 16 months. Since she was about 4 months old she has had very dark circles around her eyes, quite often these would appear as blue/black and looked like she had been punched! I was always so conscious of what people thought when they saw her because some days it was so bad. I did a lot of research and finally found out that these are referred to as "allergic shiners", appearing when someone is in contact with the various allergens. My sister put me onto Allergenics as she had her 5 year old tested, with amazing results. I tested my daughter and the results showed an allergy to oranges, all dairy, bananas and dust mites. Since the results came through I took her off all dairy and replaced her milk with rice milk, at the recommendation of Natasha. After about 4 weeks I noticed and incredible change in her appearance. Her black eyes have just about disappeared, so her eyes are bright and shiny now, and on top of that her skin on her face has really also improved. She also suffered constipation before, which has completely gone. When you know something is not right with your baby, it is really quite horrible trying to find out what is wrong. I had previously been to three different doctors - two of which said "well some people just have darker circles around their eyes!!!", and the other did say she was probably allergic to something, but couldn't advise on where to get her tested. So that was the start of me knowing she had an allergy to something, and the rest came after asking my sister her thoughts, who in turn, put me onto Allergenics. I am so relieved to know that my daughter is now looking, and feeling, a lot better.
